This article will explain how you can create a Lost item Form.
In certain situations, your organization may need to record a loss form on behalf of the person who has lost something. iLost provides the capability to document such loss forms, which we refer to as the "Lost Report". Below, we will guide you through each step of creating a Lost Form.
You can create a Lost Report form by navigating to the ''Lost Form'' section in your iLost account. To do so, click on the "envelope" icon in the top-left corner of your iLost environment. You can create a lost item report by clicking on the blue button: '+ Create lost report'. If you use a phone or tablet, you can press the blue plus button.
Always start by entering the title of the item. Examples are: Bag, Backpack, Mobile Phone, Wallet, Cardholder, Jacket, Tablet, Laptop, Key, Ring, Gloves, Scarf, Charger, Card/pass etc.
Please note: When starting to type you will see a list of item suggestions. Select a suggestion in the dropdown. Only in exceptional cases add a new item.
Is there a picture available of the lost item? If so, upload the image using the two available upload options: Upload the photo: either by using your phone, tablet, or PC(webcam) camera, or by selecting an existing photo.
Next, select the day on which the owner lost the item.
Describe the item characteristics: It is important to record as much information as possible about the lost item so that, if the item is found, it can be easily matched with the Lost Form. Each type of item has specific fields for entering its characteristics.
The final step is recording the owner's details. Using this information, the owner will receive an email notification regarding whether the item has been found. Select the language preference of the person in question. iLost supports a wide range of languages, allowing you to send updates in the desired language. Throughout the process, the owner will also receive automatic status updates via the system.
Confirm the form by clicking "Complete." This will create the report. The person in question will immediately receive a confirmation in their inbox, asking them to verify their email address.
